Jenner Fox
I met Jenner Fox through John Craigie. Turns out he knew about a half dozen other folks that had been on tinyboatsession. Ollella, Owen Thayer, Sandy Lam, Kate Dinsmore, and Queen Tide–musicians from Season 1, Season 3 and Season 4 I loved how small this world is getting. I’d been a month without a trailer and my boat had been in the fresh water of Lake Union long enough for the hull to grow a little green. I was glad to have my trailer back and a working van and even more delighted to get back on the saltwater.
Jenner had some music in Port Townsend and was planning on meeting me on the North Side of Bainbridge Island. He was traveling by bike. You heard that right. He traveled to a gig up in Port Townsend with a bike and a trailer for his gear. If he was doing that I had no problem rowing five miles across the sound to meet him on the beach. Our timing was perfect. I was just pulling up about the same time he was putting his kick stand down.
We were at Fay Bainbridge Park. A lovely beach with kids playing in the short wind blown waves. Jenner hopped in and we rolled with the tide up and down the edge of the beach while he played some songs that damn near made me cry–something about that mandolin. It wasn't quite the last day of summer but it was close–still a long way from the short days but they were getting shorter. When we were done I dropped him off on the beach. We had a fair bit of rowing and riding to get in before dark. Instagram: @jennerfoxmusic
